For the love of Edgar Wright

I love Edgar Wright. Have done ever since Spaced was first aired. Add to that Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and you've got a brilliant portfolio of work.

Everything the narrator talks about in terms of Edgar's work in this video I completely agree with. It's genius and makes for some hilarious film and TV with some truly inspired sequences.

But surely if everyone followed the same formula it would quickly just become the norm and, therefore, pretty boring? I'm not too sure Edgar would appreciate this video to be honest, even if it is 8 minutes of platitudes and finest moments.

Let directors be individuals, much the same as actors. Let them find their own way and their own techniques which work best for them.

I'm more excited at the prospect of a new (and possibly improved) Edgar Wright, someone with their own vision that they're just waiting to unleash on an eagerly awaiting audience.
