From middle class problems to posh ones

Equally amazing.

'Screengrab'

Filmmaker Willie Witte totally fucks with our heads in this effect-free short.

No idea how it's made.

"You're hired!!" - because you're brilliant

Remember when Steve Jobs died and 19-year-old student Jonathan Mak created this, now totally iconic, tribute?

Well, it scored him a piece of work for Coke to highlight the pleasures of sharing a Coke. I'm sure you've seen it but to refresh your memory here's what he came up with...

Absolutely brilliant, I'm sure you'll agree. So much so that it's just won Jonathan a Cannes Lion Award.

Jonathan is 19, he's still a student and, should he choose advertising as a career, he has a job ready and waiting for him at Olgivy in Shanghai - a fantastic opportunity for a very worthwhile young man.

Keep up the good work Jonathan, you have a wonderful career ahead of you.

Middle Class Problems

This is awesome. The photos make the whole article for me.

How vaccines have changed the world

Taken from a very interesting article in Forbes Magazine.

Miniature Melbourne

I love things like this.

Filmed over 10 months by filmmaker Nathan Kaso, Miniature Melbourne is a tilt-shift video focussing on Melbourne's carnivals, festivals and general outdoor merriment.

The Lover

Multi-layered provocation for Come4.org beautifully directed by Jeppe Ronde.

David Cameron's school days

The latest offering of hilarity from Cassetteboy.

It's official!!! Getting kicked in the bollocks hurts just as much as childbirth

Ignoring the many, many variables associated with levels of pain, it's a tie!

These animated science videos are pretty cool, view them all here.

Poke the rainbow

Can't believe I missed this...

I'm a big fan of this campaign and this is another fine effort.

Hyundai "Pipe job"

Bit controversial this one...

You could I suppose argue that the ad is well shot, that the casting is decent and so on. But I don't think anyone (other than the good people at Hyundai and Innocean) would argue that this is the best creative solution to selling a car.

And you certainly can't argue with Holly Brockwell when she told them as much, and why, in this incredibly sad and moving letter to Hyundai and Innocean themselves.

DDB literacy campaign

Amazing campaign, especially from a design point of view, highlighting the growing problem of illiteracy in France.

It's just won a Yellow Pencil at the D&ADs and I think it can expect some more awards in the not to distant future.

Turns out lightening does strike twice

Thor 2, The Dark World, is coming soon...

Facebook "Home"

Because some family dinners are just so dull.

You are not a sketch

Looks like a piece of internal comms from Star Models.

Nice idea and worthwhile message.

Gun control

Nice, simple idea with a clear message that's worth listening too.

Unfortunately, many Americans won't.

Dove Real Beauty Sketches

Yes, this is slightly cheesy. Yes, it's very American. But it's still a good idea.

The beauty of abandonment

Beautiful photography of abandoned places reclaimed by nature.

Nara Dreamland, Japan
Kolmanskop, Namib Desert
Fishing Hut, Germany
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
The remains of the Pegasus in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica
Military rocket factory, Russia
Abandoned distillery, Barbados
Sunken yacht, Antarctica
Christ of the Abyss, San Fruttuoso, Italy
1984 Winter Olympics bobsleigh track, Sarajevo
El Hotel Del Salto, Colombia
Abandoned mill, Sorento, Italy
The Kerry Way walking path between Sneem and Kenmare, Ireland
Czestochowa, Poland
SS Ayrfield, Homebush Bay, Australia
Wonderland Amusement Park, Beijing, China
Cooling tower of an abandoned power plant

This is really rather good

Nobody really listens to their boss when their giving one of those back-slapping pep talks about how hard everyone's been working and how it's led to great things for the business (but very little for you personally).

Facebook have picked up on this in their new ad for Facebook Home. And it's really rather good.

Magnetic Putty

Like something out of a 1950's B movie, this stuff is awesome and freaky in equal measures.

Sky Art

I've never seen anything like this before, or not that I can recall anyway.

Artist Thomas Lamadieu creates wonderful pieces of art by illustrating the areas of sky between buildings.

Beyonce - so ugly she makes mirrors spontaneously combust

As if.

How effin' gorgeous is this woman, for crying out loud? I'll take or leave the ad and I'll definitely 'leave' the brand - I hate Pepsi - but I could watch this woman prance around all day long (with some ear plugs, I'm not a fan of her music).

From a purely lecherous point of view, it's 60 seconds of pure perfection.

Amusingly satirical poke at how women are portrayed in certain advertising circles.

Lego storybuilder

Lego uses AR to combine offline and online entertainment.

You have to give props to the brand, it continues to come up with innovative ways of keeping up with the times without compromising what made it great to begin with. That's not an easy thing to do.

The 80's

Lovely piece of work for the National Geographic channel.

Kill Your Darlings

Kill Your Darlings shows the transformation of our teenagers from beautiful darlings into scumbag little devils.

This transformation shows how digital culture has changed how we think about privacy, bullying and the use of real-time media.

The internet has given everyone his or her own channel to talk to the whole world. Who is actually listening isn't always important or even known. What is important is that Twitter has made thoughts, opinions and social relationships freely available for everyone to enjoy.

Kill Your Darlings shows us the 'private' social circles of young teenage girls. Here we can see everything, look past their perfect little profile pictures and see their not so perfect and often shocking tweets used to publicly insult, offend and abuse.

But don't worry, these little fucks will be running the country soon - won't that be nice?

Kill Your Darlings? Indeed, kill them all.

Post-It Note arcade - stop frame animation

Thank you Michael Birken.

Geeky vid but a thing of beauty

This is an awesome piece of kit.

San Francisco

I've always wanted to go to San Francisco. I've heard it's great fun and a beautiful place to visit. Watching this stunning video shot in 4k/"Ultra-HD" makes want to go even more.
