'Come together over food'

I love this kind of artwork

Ad for Harley Davidson found on Ads of the World.

It's a decent enough ad but what I really love is the artwork, produced by illustrator Tim McDonagh.

HYC have posted this video from yesteryear and it's just so hilariously brilliant that I thought I'd post it too.

A ludicrous vision of the future?

Video about augmented reality contact lenses.

Seriously, what is the fucking point? Do you really need to turn cutting a cucumber into a game? Do you want to wriggle about on a rug looking like a total twat because your lenses are telling you that you're skydiving? Novel idea, why not just go skydiving and experience something that's actually REAL!?!

Obviously this is just a short film but if it ever became a reality (no pun intended) then we'd be living in a very sad and very creepy world.

Intergrated advertising

Carrying on the cardboard theme, this is a nice piece on intergrated advertising. Some of the dialogue becomes a little wanky but the idea and execution are great.

Caine's Arcade

Six months ago a video broke over the internet featuring the amazing imagination of one nine-year-old boy named Caine. He had built an entire arcade from cardboard around the back of his father's small hardware store in L.A. The video went viral and Caine's Arcade took off on a massive scale, earning him over $250,000 towards a college fund and hopefully a future career in engineering.

Such was the success of this first film that a new foundation has been launched in Caine's honour, aimed at inspiring children across the world to start a wave of cardboard creativity. It's called the Imagination Foundation and already the results are just wonderful.

Simply one of the most heart-warming and inspiring stories I've seen in a long, long time.

RSA films

We've just had a visit from Damiano at RSA films. RSA have got hundreds of directors working for them and are producing some really good work.

We were treated to a selection of their latest stuff, my pick of which was a short online-only film promoting Hoss Intropia, a clothing website for women.

The piece is titled 'Make Your Own Rhythm' and features model/singer/musician/songwriter Florrie Arnold. It's a lovely piece of work and I particularly like the track that was specifically written for it, it holds the piece together and encapsulates the idea.

Check out more of what we were shown here.

Between the Words

I'm having an illustration day today.

Inspired by our earlier visit from CIA, I thought I'd take a look at one of my favourite sites, Just Art.

Once there, I discovered a project titled Between the Words, created by Riccardo Guasco.

A more in depth look at his website reveals more great work.

Jeff Nishinaka

We've just been treated to a visit from CIA - Central Illustration Agency - and viewed some of the wonderful work they've been producing.

No doubt they have many talented illustrators on their books but one in particular has really blown me away.

His name is Jeff Nishinaka and he is the most mind-blowing paper sculptor I've ever come across.

A sample of his work is below but for the full experience of what he does and how visit his website.

St John's Ambulance

Beautifully shot, well cast and simple yet powerful message - lovely piece of work.

Idealista

Spanish property site targets young, sexy Spanish doggers for their new campaign.

My Spanish is pretty poor but I'm guessing the message is something like 'find somewhere more private.'

Wonderful illustrations created by using one continuous line.

Holy crap, this is actually REAL!

I don't have the words to describe the monstrosity that is this video so I'll leave it to Ben Kay, on who's blog I came across it.

"Fuck. Me. How the shitting fuck, in this day and age, can sentient beings create such a ridiculous, hateful, misguided, intolerant, nonsensical fuckwitted shitpile of a ‘message’?"

Indeed.
