Illustrating fantasy

Remember those old Fighting Fantasy books? You know the ones, where you had choose your specific path, then turn to page whatever to find out if you made the right choice or if you'd been devoured by a six-headed dragon?

I had a few of these books (blatant lie, I had loads of them) and I was always especially drawn to the cover artwork. Incredibly intricate visuals, beautifully drawn and painted.

Well, that's exactly what I thought of when I stumbled across these images by artist Michael C. Hayes.
